ABOUT ME

My name is Mercury and this is my domain. I am a professional, thirty-something student living in a basement apartment in Denver, Colorado. I have a magnificent view of an alley of parked cars.

I have a cat. She is fluffy and round. Someday I would like to have a dog, too. I'm thinking a Newfoundland. I like that they are huge and have really big, giant heads. I might also like a Great Dane and a Siberian Husky. I'll probably need to buy a house with a yard the size of Texas first.

Hm...what else. I am a hermit. I am obsessive-compulsive. I like fire, monsters, and eyeballs of unusual size. I also like galaxies, burritos, globes, shelves of books, quadratic equations, and disembodied brains. I would like to see Antarctica before I die.

This site has been online since 1998, but it hasn't always been at this address; I don't really know how long it's been at this address anymore, and honestly, I kinda don't think it's all that important. What is important is that it's here and that rules for it has died many, many times. But it has also been resurrected many, many times and in many, many different forms...probably because I'm obsessive-compulsive and can't ever seem to make up my damn mind about how I want it to look, what I want to keep on it, how I should organize it, blah, blah, blah.

I originally decided to build a site because I'm curious and I wanted to play. Now I do it to show off how absolutely great and wonderful I am, and stuff. I'm really hoping that I am happy with what I have going on right now and will leave it this way for a long time--ever, even.

I designed this site using Photoshop and notepad. I hand coded this site using good old-fashioned HTML. I also used some CSS and PHP to make my life easier, mix things up, add some variety, spice. My code actually validates and I think that's awesome.

The font used for the header graphic is called monsterfreak and I can't seem to remember where I found it. The font I used for the monster images is called HollowWeenie Bats and I don't know where I found it either. Tumblelog is powered by tumblr. I create mobile posts and images with my fantastic Sidekick LX, older ones, my less fantastic Sidekick II.
